SQM scripts manage the traffic queues on a router running compatible OpenWrt firmware. By shaping traffic just below your connection’s real upload and download speeds, they can reduce the delay that otherwise appears during a large transfer or a busy video call.
This package needs supported OpenWrt hardware and enough router CPU for your line speed. Measure your connection, set the correct WAN interface and rates, and check latency under load. Hardware flow offloading bypasses SQM, so it must be disabled or handled according to the OpenWrt guide.
