Play your own retro games with a controller

Provenance runs retro-console emulators on the Apple TV using game files and any required BIOS files you provide. It offers a game library, controller support and save states; available systems and performance depend on the build and hardware.

For the verified tvOS route, build the app in Xcode on a Mac and install it on tvOS 17 or later. A free Apple ID build stops opening after 7 days and must be reinstalled; paid Apple Developer signing normally lasts up to one year. Keep separate backups of game saves before trying development builds.
