FirmwareJailbreak A9 to A11 iPhones from a Mac or Linux PC
palera1n is a jailbreak for A9 to A11 iPhones (iPhone 6s to iPhone X) on iOS 15.0 and higher, built on the checkm8 bootrom exploit. It runs from a Mac or Linux computer in DFU mode, so it works on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, SE (1st gen), 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X, and not on A12 or newer.
On A11 phones (iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X) the README says you must disable your passcode while jailbroken, and on iOS 16 reset the device first. USB-A cables are recommended and some AMD CPUs have low success rates. Jailbreaking can stop banking apps and Apple Pay working.
