Make home printing reliable and scanning cloud independent
Configure an owned network printer with reversible settings changes, driverless printing, and local scanning without a cloud account.

"This is my own printer on my own home network. It keeps showing ink upsells, going "offline", and it only scans through the maker's cloud app. I want it clean, reliable and controlled from this computer. I authorize you to find it on my network, read its settings and make the changes below. Every change must be reversible. I've attached a photo of the printer's model label. Done means: the printer is found, its settings are backed up, the cleanup is done, every device on my Wi-Fi can print to it without installing the maker's software, and I can scan to a folder on this computer. - Identify the model from the photo and look up its official manual. - Find the printer on my network (Bonjour/mDNS or the router's device list) and give it a fixed IP so it stops going "offline". - Open its built-in admin web page (the Embedded Web Server). If it asks for a password, tell me where the default one is printed. Never guess or brute-force it. - Before changing anything, save every setting you'll touch and the undo steps. - Propose the cleanup and wait for my OK: turn off automatic firmware updates, turn off marketing, ink-subscription and "offer" prompts, fix the sleep timer, turn off any services I don't use. - Set up driverless printing (IPP Everywhere / AirPrint / Mopria) on this computer and tell me how to add it on phones. - Set up scan-to-folder or scan from this computer over the network, without a cloud account. - Show me each step as you go and end with a cheat sheet and the undo steps. Never bypass cartridge or ink checks, never flash third-party firmware, never sign in to accounts for me."
