Play local files, network media and live TV

Kodi builds a TV library from your own video, music and photo files on local storage or network shares. Add-ons can connect a compatible live-TV and recording backend, and Kodi does not supply channels or a media subscription.

Install the official Android build and grant access to the folders you want to use. Codec, HDR and audio passthrough support depend on the device and receiver; recent Android versions also require an explicit files-and-media permission.

The same project has a separate LG webOS build for webOS 5 and newer TVs. Its Developer Mode installation needs an LG developer account and renewal before the displayed session expires, or the TV removes the installed app.
