Give your keyboard layers and tap-hold actions
Kanata changes how your existing Windows keyboard behaves. A local configuration can add layers, remap keys and give a key different actions when tapped or held.
Windows 11 is the documented host; Windows 10 is expected to work but is no longer used by the core maintainer. Run the binary for your PC’s processor with a small configuration first. The winIOv2 build uses Windows keyboard hooks without an extra driver, and Kanata must keep running. Elevated applications and other keyboard tools can need additional setup.
