AppSee ID.3 battery readings on Android
Read an ID.3’s state of charge, battery temperature, current and reported capacity on Android. The app receives readings over Bluetooth from a DIY ESP32 dongle plugged into the car’s OBD-II port, without Volkswagen’s cloud.
You must build and solder the dongle, flash its firmware and install the Android APK. The author tested an ID.3 Pro S and Samsung phones on Android 12 through 16. Disconnect Bluetooth or switch the dongle off before locking the car, because diagnostic queries can trigger its alarm.
