Control ecobee holds from Apple Home
Ecobee Status adds comfort-mode hold controls to Apple Home through Homebridge, a server that connects devices to Apple Home. Its Home, Away and Night controls can create indefinite Home, Away and Sleep holds through the official cloud API; they do not arm a security system.
Authorize the supplied application with a PIN in the ecobee portal. By default, Home resumes the thermostat’s schedule while Away and Sleep set holds. Turning off a mode’s indefinite-hold option makes that control resume the schedule instead of selecting the named mode.
It polls hourly by default and reads hold events rather than the active schedule. Scheduled Away or Sleep, missing events and failed reads can all display Home. Check the ecobee app before using the displayed state in an automation, and configure a single thermostat. Multiple plugin instances share authentication and are not an established way to control separate thermostats.
