HESC Home EV Solar Control
Plug-inPlan solar charging and cheaper grid top-ups
HESC plans charging in Home Assistant, a home automation server, using solar readings, forecasts and electricity prices. It keeps a charger in its solar mode when possible, plans grid top-ups around a deadline, and displays estimated charging costs.
It works through existing integrations and starts in a shadow mode that only evaluates its plan. The author has tested Wallbox in practice; other charger profiles need owner testing before control is enabled.
