Free Levoit
FirmwareRun Core and Vital purifiers without VeSync
Free Levoit is a set of ESPHome firmware, ESPHome being a toolkit for custom smart-home device firmware, that runs your purifier locally instead of through VeSync. It talks to the purifier's own controller over its serial link and sends fan speed, modes, display, child lock, PM2.5 and a calculated filter life to Home Assistant, a self-hosted home automation hub, over your network.
Installing means opening the unit. You either flash the purifier's own Wi-Fi chip over serial, which needs soldered wires and is hard to undo, or wire in a separate ESP32 and disable the original, which keeps the stock firmware for switching back. Either way the VeSync app and cloud stop controlling the purifier. Changing the firmware may void your warranty, and the project gives no warranty.
Core 200S, 300S, 400S and 600S, Vital 100S and 200S, and EverestAir are marked tested. Sprout is a work in progress, and LV-PUR131S needs replacement hardware. The same repository also covers Philips and MUJI purifiers.
- Control your Levoit without VeSync's cloud
- Use your Levoit in other apps and automations
- Keep your own air and humidity history
- Local filter-life estimate from airflow and runtime
- Per-model display, timer and child-lock controls
- Optional separate ESP32 preserves stock module
