Compose music you can play on an NES

FamiStudio is a music editor for the NES sound chip. Arrange patterns on a piano roll, shape instruments and samples, then export audio or a music-player ROM for a compatible flash cartridge. It also makes animated piano-roll and oscilloscope videos of your songs.

The editor runs on a computer or Android device; playing an exported ROM on an NES needs hardware such as an EverDrive N8. Start with the standard NES channels. Extra sound chips need compatible cartridge hardware, and projects using multiple expansion chips cannot be exported as a playable ROM.
