Make your own launcher the Fire tablet's default
embertools changes a Fire tablet over ADB, Android's USB debugging interface. It can disable selected Amazon apps, install a different home screen, configure Private DNS and install a keyboard without root or a bootloader unlock. Its changes have revert commands.
It is an early tool tested only on a Fire HD 10 (2019) running Fire OS 7.3.3.1. A computer with ADB is required; the launcher helper also needs JDK 17 or newer and is built locally. Other Fire models are unverified. The launcher replaces the long-press Home action, and an update can undo it.
It also offers update blocking, which prevents security updates while enabled. Use the documented revert path when restoring updates; disabling the wrong system app can require a factory reset.
