A Linux tray app for Bose noise cancelling and EQ
bosectl-qt is the desktop window for bosectl, the command line tool above it. It is a Qt6 system tray app for Linux that calls bosectl's own C++ library rather than a separate protocol implementation, so it controls Bose headphones over Bluetooth with no Bose app, account or cloud. It has a noise cancelling slider, ANC and Wind Block toggles, a mode manager, a three-band EQ, spatial audio and sidetone, and publishes battery to BlueZ so desktop power indicators show it.
The README says only the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd gen) has been tried end to end in the app. The QC Ultra Earbuds (2nd gen), QuietComfort Headphones and QC45 use the same library calls but are unreported in the app. The QC35 / 35 II and original QuietComfort Earbuds are untried, and the QC35 gets battery, name and sidetone only.
It needs a Linux desktop with a system tray and the headphones paired through BlueZ. There is an AUR package for Arch; other distros build from source.
