Command lineKeep encrypted backups without duplicate file copies
BorgBackup creates compressed backup archives and stores duplicate chunks only once. Its SynoCommunity package lets a supported Synology NAS create or receive backups, with optional encryption and remote storage over SSH.
Install the package for your exact DSM version and processor, then choose what to back up and where to keep the archive. Schedule runs and test a restore before relying on it; losing an encryption key or passphrase can make the archive unreadable.
