BOAR
AppAsk AI questions offline on your phone
BOAR runs an AI model on your phone and searches downloaded articles and your own documents, with links to its local sources. It needs no account or Google Play Services; the standard APK downloads its models and knowledge pack during setup, then answers offline. It requires 64-bit ARM Android 8 or newer, with roughly 1.3 GB of initial downloads for the smaller model and more for larger models. Version 2.0.0-rc2 is a release candidate: previews were tested on a Pixel 8a with GrapheneOS, other Pixel models are unverified, and answers can contain mistakes.
- Use AI without sending questions to the cloud
- Search your own documents
- Read the sources behind an answer
- Choose other local AI models
