AppRun video, audio and network gear from your deck
Companion is a free app that turns a Stream Deck into a control surface for broadcast and presentation gear. It reads the deck over USB without Elgato's software and has connection modules for over 700 devices and programs, such as video switchers, playback software and OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), plus triggers, variables and a web interface. Several decks can each show different buttons.
You install it on Windows, macOS, Linux (x64 or arm64) or a Raspberry Pi image, and can run it without a desktop. Companion Satellite lets a deck plugged into another machine act as a surface. On a Stream Deck +, the docs say the touch strip is mapped to four buttons that give press events only, so it can't do long presses.
The docs say Elgato sometimes releases new revisions without notice, so a brand-new model may not work at once.
