AppInstall apps and manage Fire TV files from a computer
adbLink connects a computer to Fire TV through Android Debug Bridge, the device's local debugging interface. It installs APK files, starts and stops apps, transfers files and exposes a shell without an Amazon cloud login.
You need to enable debugging and authorize the computer on the TV. Kodi, a media player for your own files, has extra backup and migration tools, but Fire OS 8 restricts its data folder and an open issue reports backups using the wrong path.
- Install apps from outside the Appstore
- Transfer files and read device logs
- Send remote buttons and text
