🤯 Holy shit! It turns out many routers don't lack performance—their permissions just aren't unlocked! 🔓 Software-router tinkering diary [Day 1] Yesterday I said I was getting ready to start tinkering with a Xiaomi AX3000T. Today, the first issue to tackle is SSH! Stock firmware usually exposes only some management functions. To go further and install OpenWrt, you often need to get SSH access first. I found a tool on GitHub: XMiR-Patcher. It can help enable SSH on some Xiaomi routers, saving quite a bit of manual work! 😂 🛠️ Get it done in three steps: ① Open the Xiaomi router's admin interface and note the model and firmware version ② Download XMiR-Patcher, then have Muse check compatibility against the official tutorial and guide you through enabling SSH ③ Verify that you can log in over SSH and back up important partition data from the stock firmware 🔓 What can you do after unlocking it? ✅ View logs and network status ✅ Explore DNS and system configuration ✅ Prepare for installing OpenWrt later ⚠️ Firmware for RD03, RD23, and RD03v2 must not be flashed interchangeably! Not all firmware versions can be unlocked either. Old routers can still be useful! 🤣 Continuing tomorrow: once you have SSH, how do you install OpenWrt? 🔗 Tools and tutorials are in the comments👇
