Guide: turn a Kindle into a Whoop health dashboard, by InvestingVault · co.build

Two days ago he couldn't find the charger for his Kindle. Today it's a Whoop dashboard showing recovery 88%, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and calories on e-ink. 160+ people bookmarked it.
@ashzingh says he vibe coded it. He hasn't shared his code, so here's one open-source way to build your own:
1. Jailbreak the Kindle ( lists which models and firmware work), then set up Wi-Fi and SSH on it.
2. Install kindle-dash, a free app that wakes the Kindle, downloads one image, shows it, and puts the Kindle back to sleep.
3. Have a coding agent write a small script for your computer or home server that pulls your numbers from Whoop's official developer API.
4. Ask it to lay them out as a black-and-white page and save it as a PNG for kindle-dash to fetch.
5. Pick how often it refreshes. Between updates the Kindle sleeps, which is what keeps the battery going.
E-ink is readable in daylight and holds the picture without redrawing, so a Kindle sitting in a drawer makes a near-perfect desk display.
What would you put on an old Kindle?
